For those who camp with us and use Floyd Family Campground as a base for your travels to the area, you won’t even have to leave the property to take advantage of some great outdoor fun. 9-Hole Disc Golf Course
Our thoughtfully designed 9-hole disc golf course will keep you and your friends occupied for hours as you make your way around the rolling hills and open fields at Floyd Family Campground. Both camping guests and the general public are invited to play.
For those that bring their own discs, there is no charge to play. For those who do not bring their own discs, you can either rent of purchase discs during regular operating hours at our camp store located just at the top of the hill after passing through the main entrance. Day guests should park in the field marked ‘Day Parking’, located to the left when approaching the camp store. All guests should sign in at the camp store before playing and score cards are available. Hours for general disc golf course usage are from 10am until sunset.

Mountain Biking & Cycling
Bring a bike when you’re camping with us, or if you’re local, stop by anytime and take a ride through the beautiful fields and woodlands! Floyd Family Campground is proud to be the host site of major cycling/biking events like The Appalachian Journey, Tour de Floyd and Tour de Dirt. Miles of trails provide a perfect way to get out and enjoy the beauty we’re so blessed with here in the Blue Ridge Mountains or maybe you’d like to simply warm up on the trails before hitting the many scenic routes located throughout Floyd County.
Southwest Virginia has been designated by worldwide organizations as America’s East Coast Mountain Biking capital and with one ride around the region, you’ll quickly see why. Be a trail setter and come check it out!
Hiking the Floyd Family Trails
Spend some time surrounded by the peace and quiet at Floyd Family Campground! Our extensive network of hiking trails are marked with directional signage throughout your journey and trail maps are available at our camp store.
Did you know the central Appalachian Mountains are known to be one of the most bio-diverse places on the planet? Not only will you encounter numerous beautiful plant and tree species, you’ll see dozens of bird species, whitetail deer, rabbit, squirrel and other animals native to our region. Stop by the Fairy Village located near the trail entrance closest to the pavilion stage area, collect a few sticks, stones or other found forest objects and create your very own fairy house for others to enjoy when they pass through. A fun activity for both kids and adults!
